While my dreams of owning a REAL Steinway piano are on hold, I am proud to report that I do count a Steinway (piano teaching app) amongst my recent acquisitions.
On September 15, Steinway and Sons debuted the latest version of their Etude App, and I must say, “it’s a blast!” Great piano teaching software is hard to find, and while the Etude App will not revolutionize your piano teaching, I am sure your students will love to play with it in between piano lessons.

Unlike many sheet music apps, the Etude App literally makes music come alive. Not only do you get access to thousands of pieces of music, specifically formatted for the iPad, you also become emerged in a “guitar hero” like game where notes and hand positions capture your imagination on the screen.
For your piano students who own (or who have parents that own) an iPad, iPhone, or iTouch, this could be a fantastic piano practice incentive.
